VOC Racing Results 2023 Season

Posted on:

The results achieved by the Velocette-mounted competitors in the British Historic Racing 2023 season have been compiled, verified thanks to the good offices of John Hannis and advised to the competitors, all of whom were VOC members. The results showed a sustained recovery from the downturn during Covid, our 11 competitors totalling 148 race starts. A couple of our usual suspects were less visible this season but their reduced appearance was amply compensated for by the very enthusiastic newcomer Ashley Wilkinson (MkVIII KTT), who put in no less than 50 starts and many impressive finishes. Ashley’s performance was such that he has won both the Dave Allcock Trophy (most total points) and the Renee Rhodes Trophy (most 350cc podiums). The Arthur Lavington Trophy (most 500cc podiums) went once again to Nigel Heath (Velo/Nor). The Harold Willis Trophy (best other girder-forked performance) went to Keith Riley (MkII KSS), who must be close to claiming it outright. Veloce Spares Ltd generously sponsored the start money, which has already been distributed to the riders to help finance winter fettling. They will also be given some “Supported by Veloce Spares Ltd” stickers to apply to their race machines. The trophies will be presented at our upcoming AGM. We are grateful to the riders for the visibility of the Velocette marque, Veloce Spares and the Club, which they provide thanks to their considerable efforts, skill and personal expense.
