Racing
The results achieved by the Velocette-mounted competitors in the British Historic Racing Club 2025 season have been compiled and analysed. Participation in terms of race starts was slightly down with 75 starts compared with 91 last season but we fielded 8 competitors against 6 last season, namely Alec Cottam (a new face), Stephen Denman, Tony Green, Sam Page, Sam Rhodes, Bill Swallow, Kevin Thurston and Ashley Wilkinson.
We did not see Ashley’s 500 MSS/KTT this season but his performance on his MkVIII KTT earned him our Dave Allcock Trophy (for the highest total points of any Velocette-mounted competitor) together with our Renee Rhodes Trophy (for the most 350cc podium finishes). Stephen Denman, on his VeloManx500, wins our Arthur Lavington Trophy (most 500cc podium finishes), whilst Tony Green’s results on his girder-forked MAC earned him our Harold Willis Trophy.
We are as always grateful to Veloce Spares Ltd for sponsoring the start money payments, which have already been distributed to the riders to help finance winter fettling, and which we hope will find their way back to VSL in spares orders. The trophies will be presented at our upcoming AGM. We are grateful to the riders for the visibility of the Velocette marque provided by their considerable efforts, expertise and considerable expense and, yet again, to John Hannis for his efforts and skill in analysing the published race results.
