Although
"Catalogue" and "Works" photos may certainly be helpful in
dating or restoring a machine, there was rarely such a thing as a
"completely standard" Velocette. Improvements were not only made
during a production year, they were sometimes also made between the "photographing
for" and the "printing of" the catalogue.
The
first entry in the "Catalogues" section is of particular significance.
It is a reproduction, as faithfully as is practicable via the Internet, of the
original brochure published by Veloce in 1913 to market their four-stroke range
and to announce a new model, a two-stroke, with a new name - "The
Velocette"
