MAC abroad, and ready for restoration. Spotted by David
Reid in the museum in Calabar, Cross River State, in eastern Nigeria. The inscription reads 'Velocette motorcycle used by the Reverend Colin Macdonald, teacher at the Hope Waddell Training Institute'.
Frame number is believed to be RS12415 and engine MAC25511 ....... if only
it could speak, what tales it might tell.
1936? MSS outfit, spotted by Tony Ainley
while he was on holiday in Kefalonia. He was driving in the "capital" Argastoli when
he saw this outside a motorcycle repair shop..... in need of an overhaul!
Subsequently inspected by Dennis Frost who noted the frame and engine
numbers. They indicate a post-war date of manufacture - probably 1947.
A Challenging Restoration - a
couple of machines found by Derek Smith in a suburban back yard in
Auckland in the early eighties
