Tony Wright

Tony Wright, age 61, was married to Anastasia, who was a voluntary teacher of Music, and a Parish and District Councillor. Anastasia died on 17th August 2003 after a long struggle against cancer.

Son Jo, age 30, graduated from Oxford in Classics then gained an MBA and is currently working in Liverpool as an Enterprise Development Director
Daughter Nancy, age 27,  studied Drama and now works at the BBC.
Son Malcolm, age 23, graduated in engineering at Cardiff University after spending a year training to be an engineer with an aerospace engineering company where he worked in their offices in York Road, Hall Green.......it was indeed the old Velocette factory, refurbished. One of life's coincidences.
He is now an engineer at Rolls Royce, training initially on aero engines

I made a Venom for the year 2000 based on my short circuit and MGP racer.
It is currently called a  "Velocette Vulgar" (because it is... ).Previously, just for the year 2000, it was called a "Millennium Venom".
With 18" wheels and a cross-braced frame, braced front fork and massive alloy top-yoke, it has precise steering.
A slim alloy tank and fibre-glass racing seat together with alloy rims and dural engine plates all help to keep weight down for nimble handling.
The engine is still basically a Venom, with BTH TT magneto and 1 3/8 GP1 carb.
Only the ports have had significant work and the power is still quite tractable....once started (Castrol R tends to require a knack to spin a cold engine on the kick-starter).
The VV is shown as it is now, on the road (photos by Bill Fryer), and when it last competed in the Manx GP.

I also have a "standard" Venom, an MSS, a MAC and a Valiant.
The Venom is pictured while racing in a Velocette Owners Club Race meeting at Cadwell Park. I bought the 1957 Venom when I passed my motor-cycle licence test in 1962. It had been crashed, but it was all I could afford. I have used it for 45 years since then, on road and track, and it is still ready to go anywhere, anytime.
My MAC and Valiant are pictured in the Millennium Calendar. The MSS needs cleaning so isn't pictured yet.
