I've been in the club since the mid 60's at home and overseas and am now in
the Chelmsford Center . The Venom Thruxton represents that latest restoration
project , acquired following Stamford Hall 2001.
It was manufactured in the middle of the VMT series in May 1967 and shipped to
the USA where it is shown as first registered in 1968 on its ( West Virginia )
registration. It was re-imported to the UK in 1989 and was stored in
non-roadworthy condition to 2001 ( another bike from a barn ). It is now back as
it should be, has UK registration for 1968 and is back on the road. I have the
GP carb, but for ease of set up started with the Mk 1 concentric which also came
with the bike, it starts well ( if flooded well ) and will tick over nicely when
warm .
