I last rode a Velocette in the 1960s. For forty years I have thought about buying another one, but family and work priorities always seem to have got in the way
It appears that I am now a Born again Biker.
I have recently purchased this 1959 viper. The machine has been completely restored to a very high standard, the engine and gearbox by Geoff Dodkin in 1992/3, the frame and all fittings by the owners during the same period. The bike has not been ridden since then. The bike when purchased in 1991 from the British Iron Company was registered as WRG 159A. Frame number is RS 12565. It also had a red tank and chrome mudguards.
If any member has any information regarding this bike I'd be glad to hear from them. As soon as I can get the bike to start consistently, I do intend to ride it.
