The 2003 Dave Allcock Championship was once again won by Nigel Lines riding his very rapid 350cc racer based on a rigid MAC. David Burrell was runner-up and Robert Walker was third, displacing Terry Anderton who has had 'quiet' year. Nigel also won the 350 class in the Vintage Club.
The Championship is run in conjunction with the VMCC Racing Section. Points are awarded at each of their meetings and each year the VOC sponsors one complete event. For the past few years 'our' meeting has been held at Lydden in Kent and has been blessed with fine weather. The premier event at the meeting is the Arthur Lavington Memorial when the field is made up exclusively of Velocettes and Velocette engined specials. For the past three years Richard Adams has won on his Venom. Considering how small the overall production of Velos was compared to other factories, like BSA and Norton, the number taking part is truly remarkable. In some races during the season they made up the largest single marque.
