As usual the Championship ran all season at every VMCC Historic Championship round
- this year some of them very wet!
The first two places have been taken by girder fork MAC'S, which is nice to see. Goes to show you don't need a fire breathing, difficult to
start bouncy Venom - a fire breathing, difficult to start rigid MAC will do!
Shaun Waters made an appearance on his 4 valve Venom engined special, which we haven't seen for
many seasons.
How many others of you are out there with competitive machines hidden away? Bring them out next year.
Both Nigel Lines and Ian Cramp managed to break limbs in the middle of the season, but
were back in action a few weeks later with the help of screws and metal, plus quite a bit
of determination.
We shall be doing it all over again next year starting Easter Sunday at Mallory Park.
2002 Championship Positions.
1st Nigel Lines 350 MAC 45 points
2nd David Burrell 350 MAC 43 points
3rd Terry Anderton 500 Venom 40 points
4th Ian Cramp 350 KTT 38 points
5th Tim Johnson 500 Venom 37 points
6th David Brasier 500 Venom 28 points
Nigel who won the Championship also came 2nd in the VMCC 350 Championship mixing
it with Manxes and 7R's, so well done Nigel.
David Burrell who came a close 2nd was a novice at the beginning of the season, so well
done David.
How many others are out there thinking they might have a go? So drag that MAC out of the shed and tune it.
